Malaysia and Singapore 2026

Image
Perhaps this is the first time I am writing about a personal tour experience. Since my childhood, I have travelled to multiple places in India, but this was the first time I travelled abroad. I would have travelled to the UAE last year as well, but since I had joined office very recently, I hesitated to ask for a week-long leave and, damn, we had severe resource shortage at that time. But this time, I had worked enough for more than a year to have a week-long leave approved, is what I feel, my manager wouldn't. 😉 So let's get back to business. It was 01st May 2026, which is celebrated as Maharashtra Din here, but destiny had different plans this time, to take me and my family not just out of Maharashtra, but out of India. We boarded a Malaysian Airlines plane from T2 CSMIA at night and at least I was awestruck, for I had never sat in a plane having 3 rows. It was a five-hour-long flight. We had had dinner at the airport itself and then had it again in the flight as well. Well,...

MVC Col Sonam Wangchuk: "The Lion Of Ladakh"

Image
When Humility Meets Valour! Writing a blog about a particular officer for the first time, and about the forces after a long gap, perhaps around three years, let’s dive into the story of the “Lion of Ladakh,” Mahavir Chakra awardee Colonel Sonam Wangchuk (Retd.). Snippet from the Documentary : " Lion of Ladakh " (2017) Who is Col. Sonam Wangchuk? Col. Sonam Wangchuk (MVC) (Retd.), born on 11th May 1964, is an Indian Army veteran who has been decorated for his valiant service. Along with the Mahavir Chakra, he has also been awarded the Videsh Seva Medal (VSM) for his tenure in Sri Lanka during operations against the LTTE, as per the Government’s orders. Col. Sonam graduated from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi. During his college days, he was exceptionally fit and often ran cross-country for miles. Noticing his dedication, his uncle, who served in the Army, encouraged him to join the forces. From the documentary released by the then Hon’ble President of India, S...

Chaul Again

Image
It all started in October 2024, we planned a full fledged trip to Gokarna as per our examination time table, which was then disrupted because of the sudden change in the timetable of our examination, all because of the state elections but nevertheless we decided to keep our plan active on some other dates in the same vacation, but it was frantically opposed by one of  our group members for some reason, though this story has a sad starting, it has a better ending (not a happy ending, I would say, but okay).  Chaul Since now we had to change our plan, we decided to visit Chaul again (Wait Again: Yes we had also visited in 2022, not blogged though it is well documented in a reel 😉). So lets move ahead, we all decided to go by  boat because boats dropped us at Mandwa Jetty and we had to visit the historic "Kankeshwar" temple dedicated to Lord Shiva built by  the then ruler "Raja Ramdeorai Yadav" of the Yadava dynasty in the 12th or 13th Century. The experience was abso...

7th December 2023: The Day Scooties Felt Valued!

Image
Carefully see this image and only then start reading the blog, to get the context:                                                               Writing this blog after a while, skipping a year in between, being written on the demand of characters you will encounter while going through this blog.  This was the day on which we were preparing for one of our most delightful days, the second day of our of  Malvan Trip  and you know what!? This day itself turned out to be one of the most immemorial.  As per our plan we were supposed to tour throughout and through the outskirts of Malvan on the second day of our trip, but the problem was no one except me and Mr. Honrao had the experience of riding, even gearless motrcycles (McWoG/Scooties) for long distances perfectly. So on 6th of December all of a sudden our minds igni...

Malvan: An Indelible Trip!

Image
It was December 2022 when we, a group of five friends decided to go to a trip at my native place. It was quite successful but not quite far from our homes. Then in June 2023 we decided to go a little far and for real ended up going to Shirdi which is almost 291 km. It was a one night trip rather a pilgrimage wherein we spent the night in our sleeper train itself while returning. Then, since our trips were succeeding by the grace of supreme, we decided to plan a larger one for the next time and guess what!? We didn't only plan it but also have now executed it and now we are lost in the nostalgia of that trip. Since happiness increases by sharing, I decided to share our experiences with you, hope you enjoy. Happy reading ahead. Umm, I very well remember we had our "Periodic Test II" in the month of October 2023 from 9th to 12th October and since the syllabus of all the subjects had been declared over by then, for 13th of October weirdest of weird time table had been issued,...

लोकाहो , तुमचे डोके ठिकाणावर आहे का! ? Dedicated to the lotus feet of the "Father of Indian Revolution!"

Ahmednagar's Devastating Crime Rate!!

Image
Ahmednagar, hmm, many of our urban readers would never have heard about this place. But defence aspirants, what about them? They must know, because Ahmednagar is the base for Indian Army's Armoured core, the MIRC Greens and many the mind blowing tank museum, Ahmednagar, has it all! What a beauty it is, the largest district of Maharashtra, probably the third largest in the country. Ahmednagar is the home to the world famous Kalsu Bai Shikhar, the tallest mountain of the Indian state of Maharashtra, once you climb it and reach its peak, I am telling you, you will find clouds at your feet! Now you will say, if the title of this blog is talking about the crime rate, then why are you singing the praises!! The reason being I don't want the readers to have a complete pessimistic approach towards the Ahmednagar district and city, though now-a-days, in the recent past, crime rate had boosted but still Ahmednagar is the epitome of history, culture and spirituality. Ahmednagar is the home...
