Ratan Tata: Replacement of Kohinoor (Blog series- 2, Ep.- 1)

RATAN NAVAL TATA

(28 Dec. 1937 - Present)

(Son of Naval Tata & Sooni Tata)

(Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan)

Ratan Naval Tata, born on 28 December 1937, is an Indian Industrialist and a philanthropist and a leader in true sense. He was the former head of TATA & Sons. Now, though he is not the head of TATA & Sons, he still continues to lead all its charitable trusts. Mr. Tata loves dogs. Mr. Ratan Tata, by qualification is a Bachelor of Architecture. He has a big hand helping the automobile industry flourish in India. So, let's see how!

Mr. Tata & Cars

Mr. Tata launched Tata Indica, a car in 1998. He, in one of his speeches mentioned that when he decided to launch this car, people around him started leaving him and it was only then, that he realised, that he had no friend in the world. Then after a few years, Mr. Tata had a loss and he went to Mr. Ford and asked him if he could buy his automobile company as he was suffering through a huge loss. At that time, Mr. Ford mocked Mr. Tata and said that he was doing a big favour by buying Tata's automobile company. Mr. Tata took this as an insult and when he returned to India, he decided to do something big. He worked so hard to make profits. He used all his experience and skills and again met Mr. Ford, but this time to buy Jaguar and Land Rover. The meeting ended up, with Mr. Ford saying that now Mr. Tata was doing a favour to him by buying his companies which had suffered a lot.

Mr. Tata & His Down to the Earth Character

Mr. Tata is an industrialist. The Tata group is spread all over the world. This group makes huge profits, and hence if he wished, Mr. Tata could become a billionaire, or say trillionaire leaving many leading industrialists far behind him in the race. But here, the moral values and the concise of Mr. Tata plays a big role, as he donates almost 67% of the funds he receives to charity. This has been in the blood of Tata group. From the times even before we got independence. For example, The Tata Memorial Hospital. Moreover let us take another incident as an example laid before us by Mr. Tata about his politeness. As I have mentioned in the very first paragraph, that Mr. Tata loves dogs, so let me narrate to you an incident about how Mr. Shantanu Naidu (The Assistant of Mr. Tata and Deputy General Manager of Tata Group) became a close associate of Mr. Tata in 2018 and since then he has been working relentlessly with Mr. Tata. This story is all about, how Mr. Naidu's good Karma helped him achieve his dream of working with a good person, rather a great person- Mr. Ratan Tata. Actually Mr. Naidu posted on facebook, where he wrote about dog collars for the stray dogs of Mumbai, so that drivers can easily spot them. Since he was a student then, he didn't have enough funds to make collars, and decided to use denim pants as a base material to make collars. He successfully collared 500 dogs. Mr. Naidu's work started getting all attention and it was also highlighted in the Tata company's newsletter which got him an invitation to Mumbai from Tata, himself. Isn't this an epitome of politeness? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

One More Story...

Mr. Tata is an industrialist. If he wishes, he can become a billionaire. I want you to read this line again & again. Has it ever happened, considering you are an ordinary employee, that you are critically ill and the owner of your company visits your house to enquire about your health? But what if I tell you that it has happened not in the fictious world, but in reality, that too in India, that too in Maharashtra, that too in Pune! Actually what had happened is an employee of the Tata group was critically ill, and could not attend office for a few months. It was in December 2020/21 (could not remember) that Mr. Tata, himself visited this employee to enquire about his health. The employee, himself was astonished to see Mr. Tata and he also stated that their was increase in speed of his recovery ever since he met Mr. Tata since he felt very good.

Three Words Describe Mr. Tata- "EPITOME OF HUMANITY"
