INS Vikrant : What Rafael is In the Skies, 10 Times More is Vikrant In The Ocean!

/*Disclaimer: Information available in public domain is only given.*/

"THE CONTROLLER OF THE OCEAN RULES THE WORLD"

Let's start with the motto of the Indian Navy: शं नो वरुणः

                                                                                         INS VIKRANT

Current Status

Till the day before INS Vikrant was commissioned, INS Vikramaditya was guarding and standing upright for the protection of this great nation. What's needed was two more companions, one has
already come, the another one INS Vishal will come soon. Before INS Vikramaditya, INS Virat was the aircraft career used by the Indian Navy. It was commissioned in 2013 and was decommissioned in 2015.

Why the need of an another Aircraft Career!?

We must note that India is a peninsular country. "Peninsula" is a geographical term meaning a land mass that is surrounded by water on three sides. If viewed from space, Arabian sea on the west, Bay of Bengal in the east and Indian Ocean in the east. Are two Aircraft Careers enough? What I feel is no, not at all, in order to have conscious control over the three water bodies surrounding the country we need three aircraft careers. As Major General(Retired) Yashpal Singh Mor rightly quotes in his YouTube video regarding commissioning of INS Vikrant " Ye Dil Maange More!"  So we will soon be having INS Vishal!

Great step of India towards becoming a Blue Water Navy, i.e. a navy that operates in all the oceans and seas over the world.

History of the Name.....

As many of you might be aware of the very fact that we are the very nation responsible for the formation of Bangladesh. It was in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation war, During that time we had our aircraft carrier with the very same name INS Vikrant.  It had played an important role during that war. Attempts had been made by the then Pakistan Government to destroy INS Vikrant using submarine PNS Ghazi, but to no avail. Unfortunately it was demolished after it was decommissioned recently. So in order to honour the great Aircraft Carrier, the new one was renamed as INS Vikrant.

Launched in 2013, Commissioned on 2nd of  September 2022.

Important Note...

We must note that this indigenous Aircraft carrier is a great step to counter China as China is not very powerful in the Indo - Pacific region and the introduction of our new Aircraft carrier will further reduce China's influence in the Indo-Pacific region.
