Surrogate Advertising : The Nation Heading Backwards!

"All of us have heard about this term, right?" So basically surrogate advertising means advertising things like cigarettes, liquor and tobacco under some other products.

This blog is an INTENSE PROTEST BLOG and hence no mercy will be shown, neither towards any company nor celebrity.

And if you ask me if I am not afraid, let me tell you that I am not even afraid of DEATH.

The first case of surrogate advertising, I remember in my conscious life was in 2015. I had come to my native place all alone, I was just 12 years old then. During those days the 2015 ODI word cup was going on, and in the ad break, there used to be an ad.

Oh yes this one, you got it right. It advertises alcohol as Soda, now imagine as a 12 year old boy if someone would have asked me to bring soda from soda shop and keeping that ad in my mind I would have asked the shopkeeper for a McDo***** soda, what impression others would have on my family teachings and that too when it's not their mistake at all.

Then, I suppose, during that very year or the next year there used to be an advertisement of some company called Carlsberg.

Here they have crossed all the limits and they are literally boasting about what they make. In Hindi the ad used to say, ''Agar ham meetings conduct karte toh vo duniya mein sabse behtarin hote, lekin aap to jaante hai, hum kya banate hai 😏.'' Now what more to say!?

Now enough of this alcoholic ads, the "National Image Deteriorating Legacy" doesn't stop here even tobacco and cigarettes are advertised using surrogate advertising.

Now there's an extremely famous actor who himself can be considered as the definition of hypocrisy.

Before any movie starts, you will always see this man in the Government's informative advertisements regarding harmful effects of tobacco and all that other sort.

Yes I am talking about Akshay Kumar! Koi Shak!!

Not only him but along with him King Khan as they say, SRK and Ajay Devgan too advertise products like Vimal Pan Masala, though they advertise it as pan masala, on asking the same from the shopkeeper, he also gives the other elements required.

These People, they are actors but now players as great as Kapil Dev have started advertising this poisonous products.

Where "Kapil Dev" is from old generation and one of the greatest players of West Indies "Chris Gayle" is depicted to be of new generation. Kapil Dev says "Puraani Generation ho ya nayi waali, dono ki pasand toh ek hi hai Kamla Pasand."

The tagline says, "In Dono Kaa, Alag Hai Andaaz."

JI BILKUL ALAG HAI ANDAAZ, they themselves would have focused on their health and fitness all their life to give their best performance on the field but who cares about others.

Kapil Dev was the captain of 1983 World Cup winning team of India and never to forget, he is the inspiration of players like Sachin Tendulkar.

All we can do is to appeal Kapil Paaji and Chris Gayle to not indulge in such surrogate advertisements.

What Can We Do?

The best part we can do is to ignore such advertisements and products and we must not fall prey to these advertising strategies just because they are being advertised by celebrities.

Join The Campaign!

Read aloud this oath:
  1. Alcohol is Poison
  2. Tobacco is Poison
  3. Smoking is Poison
  4. I will never become alcoholic.
  5. Never will even touch the bottle.
  6. Will never intake tobacco/smoke.
  7. Will not fall prey to surrogate advertisements.
  8. I know the depiction of this venomous addictions doesn't make me look cool and hence
I will never intake alcohol, tobacco and will never smoke!

What Can the Government do?

The government will have to impose stricter ban on advertisements of such life threatening products and this products should not even be advertised under some other cover product. This is the only permanent solution to this problem.
