NSG : The Black Cats (Blog Series- 1, Ep.- 1)

National Security Guard The National Security Guard better known to the general public as NSG or " Black Cats " or the " Black Cat Commandoes " is a counter terrorism squad and is specially trained for urban warfare and hostage situations. This is the major reason that they were called during 26/11 attacks as it was a situation wherein both the skills of urban warfare and hostage relief were required. Why Was The NSG Formed? Many of us are familiar with the operation " Blue Star " of 1984 where the para sf i.e., the special forces operatives of the Parachute Regiment of the Indian Army stormed into the Golden Temple of Amritsar in order to neutralize the Khalistani minded militants. Though the forces successfully regained the control of Golden Temple a need of a different force was realized which could carry on operations in presence of civilians in urban areas and also could release hostages from enemy capture. Did Lord Rama really order Goddess Sita to go through Agni Pariksha?

Image
Goddess Sita and the Agni Pariksha! Many people in the modern world criticize Lord Rama for asking his consort Sita to give proof of her purity and sanctity via Agni Pariksha. Agni Pariksha  literally means an examination in which one's purity is tested by asking him/her to pass through fire. If the person comes out unburnt she/he passes the test. In case people think that Lord Rama asked  Goddess Sita for Agni pariksha in order to test her purity and santity, then they are WRONG! Actually during the time of Vanvas (14 year stay of Lord Rama in Jungles), once on a fine day in the evening Lakshman  (devout brother of Lord Rama) had went out to collect wood and fruits for dinner, it was then when Lord Rama told Goddess Sita about the dangers and the enemies he was going to encounter in the near future and hence ordered Agni Dev (the god of fire) to protect Goddess Sita and a in turn a Pratibimba ( reflection ) of the Goddess came out which accompanied Lord Rama for the fu...

Let me come straight to the point, Lord Vitthal is another form of Lord Krishna like jagganath, Banke Bihari, etc. The Specialty of Lord Vitthala's temple in Maharashtra? The temple of Lord Vitthala is in Pandharpur in Maharashtra and as per the devotees and the great saints the idol in the temple is Swayambhu meaning self incarnated.  The History of the Swayambhu idol! During the end of dwapar yuga,  there lived a man called Pundalik. He wanted to attain moksha and had decided to leave for kashi so that he could become free from the continuous cycle of birth and death ( moksha *) and while going to Kashi from Pandharpur he decided to rest at Maharishi Kutkut's Ashram.  He asked Maharishi Kutkut the way to Kashi to which the great sage replied that he didn't know the route as he h...
