  • CRPF: Central Reserved Police Force (CAPF)
  • CISF: Central Industrial Security Force (CAPF)
  • SSB: Sashastra Seema Bal (CAPF)
  • ITBP: Indo Tibetian Border Police (CAPF)

Exception:

Controlled by both MOD (Operational Control) and MHA (Administrative Control)

AR: Assam Rifles (Paramilitary)

The Intelligence and the Master Spies

  • R&AW : Research and Analysis Wing (Foreign Intelligence Agency)(Parent Wing: Cabinet Secretariat, Minister responsible is the Prime Minister of India).
  • IB : Intelligence Bureau (Counter Intelligence Agency and responsible for India's Domestic Internal Security)(Comes under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)).

Ministry of Home Affairs of Different States

All the states of India have their own Police force in order to protect the state. Their jurisdiction lies within that particular state. Some police forces like the Maharashtra Police have special forces like Force one.
